It all began with an idea.

When I picked up my first camera, I was 12. Thus began a love of capturing moments of time. In my early practice sessions, I used a few of my living room lamps for lighting and a bunch of Mary Kay make up. I saw then how such a simple photo and imaging could change lives. I ended up shooting commercial work but my two hobbies in my personal work have always been nature and transformations.

Then, my mother passed away in 2019. She was 91 years old. Unbeknownst to me, she had thrown away almost all of her photographs. I learned then, to my sorrow, how much those printed images meant to me. It never occurred to me she’d throw them out. It changed the direction of my life. I made a short video of the story here. I started doing Portraits in the Sue Bryce style. It’s beautiful work but it’s expensive. Then realized I wanted to offer this exquisite style of portraiture by combining the style with the intent of transformational portraits. NRIA was born from there.
